15 Mar Viason Sonographers Volunteer at Local Community Health Fair
Several Viason sonographers spent a Saturday morning giving back — volunteering at a community health fair in the greater Charlotte area.
The team helped educate attendees about the role of diagnostic ultrasound in preventive care, answered questions about cardiovascular and vascular screening, and connected with neighbors who may never have spoken with a sonographer before. Many attendees were surprised to learn how much of routine cardiac and vascular assessment can be performed safely and noninvasively with ultrasound — and how often early detection of issues like carotid narrowing or peripheral arterial disease can change long-term outcomes.
The Viason booth offered written materials on common ultrasound studies, age-appropriate screening recommendations, and information on how patients can ask their primary care provider about on-site imaging. Several attendees were referred to community resources for follow-up care.
Community outreach has long been part of the Viason culture. Our team grew up in the Carolinas, lives here today, and feels a responsibility to share the health knowledge we have the privilege to work with every day. Look for the Viason team at upcoming health fairs throughout the year.
